We've spent many years of our adult life in the network marketing industry.  Over the years, we've seen more people get tricked into believing in the next new "shiny object" than we care to remember.

Time and time again, you'll see "wizards" coming up with the "hottest" new...Blah, blah, blah.

After years of this, it gets old - especially when you know what really works.  From our vantage point, the hot new "whatever" only allows a few to succeed. The masses of network marketers can never make it work.  So they throw it aside, and get back to the basics and either get serious about building their organization, or they drop out.

Which one are you? Where will you be in six months?  Do you chase the next new thing? Or, are you in it for the long haul?

If you're serious about building your downline, you and us both know, as much as we'd like it to work, the shiny new object isn't the solution.  What is true however, is sticking to time-tested proven methods that work today as well as they did yesterday.
They'll work when times are "good" and they'll work when people believe the sky is falling.
It starts and ends with effective communication skills.
Building that "dream" downline can't happen if you fail to communicate properly to your prospects.
Failing to speak their language and use the best tools for trust will destroy your chances of "making it".

Here's something to consider:

The best forms of communication build trust with your prospect. And, in case you didn't know, the different tools you use to communicate can affect the trust you want to build in a negative manner.

Let us explain.

We're sure you know that a face to face conversation is the best form of communication with a prospect.  After that, comes the telephone.  Then, comes direct mail, followed closely by newspaper and magazine ads.  Way down the list, after radio and TV is the internet.

So, even if you get leads on the net, you'll want to bring them higher up the trust scale by getting them on the phone.  But do you know what to say when you get them on the phone?

Rookies make the mistake of getting a hot lead and telling them all about their revolutionary company, or the explosive growth your upline is experiencing, or the...

Stop!  Don't make those mistakes!

You must learn how to create curiosity in your prospect.  Prospects don't care one single little bit about you, your organization or the company you're distributing for.

Your prospects are interested in one thing - themselves.  So, if you don't talk to them about themselves, you'll lose your prospect.

If we tell you we want to quit our jobs because we're tired of working graveyard shifts, would you proceed to tell us about your company?

You shouldn't.  You should have the technique necessary to slowly move us to understand that we could leave our jobs and own our own organization - just like you!

Easier said than done.

Over and over we tell people it's the basics you must master. The hot new thing can only go so far - if it moves you forward at all.

It's the basics, things like:

Knowing how to qualify prospects...

Knowing how to create curiosity in your prospect...

And knowing how to communicate using one of our greatest sales tools - the phone!

The mastery of these basics alone will catapult you to the top.

We know, because in Jay's  day, there was no internet.  He didn't have a bulk email he sent to all prospects.  He was committed and he communicated properly.  That is what SJC TEAM (Sue & Jay) as a Team do now and You can too.
